What does Shekinah mean?
This is the question we probably get the most, but don’t worry, we love to answer it.
Our logo beautifully symbolizes Shekinah Glory, a Hebrew term that means the tangible manifestation of God's presence among His people. The house featured in our logo is a representation of our unwavering commitment to bringing people into the Father's House, while the curved line at the bottom signifies the Earth itself.
Perhaps the most cherished element of our logo is the way the glory seamlessly forms the house. It's a beautiful reflection of our belief that His presence should be at the heart of everything we do.
We continue to identify as a People of His Presence.
OUR LEGACY
Our legacy consists of two vital components:
1) Training and equipping individuals to establish a safe, compassionate, and inclusive community for those facing challenges.
2) Following that, actively extending our outreach to individuals who require our assistance, inviting them into this secure, caring, and welcoming community.
In essence, our mission encompasses empowering people with the skills and mindset to build a supportive environment, and then extending that support to those in need, creating a cycle of transformation and belonging.
OUR STRUCTURE
GroundZero
GroundZero facilitates an intensive process, comprising triage and screening, aimed at swiftly guiding individuals toward programs and environments conducive to their success, all accomplished within a 30-day timeframe.
The Bridge
The Bridge serves as the critical pathway for individuals seeking freedom from addictions and life-controlling issues. It encompasses addiction recovery, sober living, and relapse prevention measures, enabling individuals to regain control of their lives.
Community Living
Once individuals successfully cross The Bridge, they transition into community living, an integral part of the ShekinahGO mission. This phase includes participation in the Intern Program, School Of The Cloud, Outreach, and Volunteerism, allowing individuals to play an active role in our larger community.
THE TRANSFORMATION OF SARRAH-LEE HERSEY
My life first started to spin out of control at a very young age. My father was incarcerated most of my childhood and teen years. My mother did her best in raising me as a single mother working 3 jobs. In my teen years, I began looking for affection from men as I had no father figure, which led me to being sexually abused, physically violated, and then drugs and alcohol to fill the void and numb the pain.
I struggled with addiction on and off for 18 years of my life.
In 2018, my life really began to spiral. By the end of 2022, I lost my job, home and family, including my son.
On December 09th, 2022, I reached out to Lauretta Charters as I did many times before, yet this time was different. I was really tired of addiction and making wrong choices, which would eventually lead to death. I made my way to Shediac, New Brunswick, to Naomi & Ruth, a women’s Christian-based rehabilitation centre. I recommitted my life to the Lord and in doing so, I had tremendous healing, being set free from addictions, sexual relationships, and learned to walk in Christlike ways.
Naomi & Ruth also attended ShekinahGO as part of our program, where I had the chance to learn the word of God, to be a disciple of Christ, and to help others with the same things I overcame.
Without these two ministries, I honestly do not think I would have made it out of the havoc I once lived.
It is through Christ that these programs work, and I reach out to anyone out there who is struggling. I tried many times on my own, yet nothing worked.
These programs work.
I’ve learned and can testify that only through Christ, we can be set free.
I did 9 months of intense rehabilitation, fellowship, and leadership development training. And I recently just graduated from Naomi & Ruth, and have just been hired on as Nighttime Supervisor.
Glory be to God. Amen.
