CAL MASKERY

FOUNDING DIRECTOR

Cal Maskery's life journey embodies a powerful narrative of personal transformation and steadfast commitment to his promise to serve God. His profound encounter with God during a prison term in 1981 marked a pivotal moment. In 1982, while listening to Billy Graham speak on finding a new life in Christ, Cal made a solemn covenant with God, vowing to dedicate his life to His service.

Cal's path took an unexpected turn when he met Rose, a volunteer at Atlantic Baptist College, during his prison chapel attendance. Their connection blossomed into a loving relationship, leading to marriage upon his release. Together, they formed a family, which includes three children: Nathan, Alisha, and Kayla.

Cal's ministry journey spans several decades, reflecting his unwavering devotion to God and his community:

From 1989 to 1997, he served at the Inner City Youth Mission in Moncton, where he provided guidance and hope to inner-city youth, demonstrating deep empathy for their struggles.

In 1997, he founded and established Harvest House Atlantic. This organization became a beacon of hope for individuals facing addiction and homelessness in Moncton, offering shelter, recovery, and support.

In 2022, Cal embarked on a new chapter of ministry by establishing Shekinah Glory Outreach (GO), where he continues to serve the community with his wealth of experience and unshakeable faith.

Throughout his life and ministry, Cal's heart cry has remained constant: to create a nurturing community of faith where individuals can find love, acceptance, and help in their moments of need. His legacy serves as an enduring source of inspiration, showcasing the transformative power of faith and love.

Meet the Board

  • Cal Maskery

    FOUNDING DIRECTOR

Cal brings a lifetime of experience to his role as Founding Director at Shekinah Glory Outreach. At the age of 17 Cal followed his father’s footsteps and spent 5 out of 8 years in and out of prison. During his time in Dorchester Penitentiary Cal watched a Billy Graham crusade on TV. Cal pleaded with God for help and vowed to follow God the rest of his days if He would help him. That night, being led by the words of Billy Graham, Cal accepted God into His heart and his life changed forever.

Upon his release in 1985 Cal worked for two years at the Mitchell Family Christian book store in Toronto, Ontario. In 1987 he returned to Moncton, New Brunswick as a self-employed painter.

Cal began his outreach in the east end of Moncton NB as the new Director of New Life Mission in July of 1989. New Life Mission had a primary focus in youth ministry. As Cal grew and developed this outreach he began to realize that he had a heart for older youth and adults. In early 1997 Cal branched off to start a new outreach with the blessing of the board of directors. This new outreach quickly came to be known as Harvest House Atlantic. Over the next 25 years Harvest House Atlantic grew from a simple shelter with mattresses on the floor to providing a stable Shelter environment, Step-up Housing, and long-term addiction recovery.

With the blessing of the Board of Directors of Harvest House Atlantic, in March of 2022, Cal moved on to begin Shekinah Glory Outreach. The mission of Shekinah Glory Outreach is to work with Pastors and Spiritual Leaders to provide faith-based outreach opportunities to bring hope to those in need. Through this outreach we will encourage recovery, spiritual growth and connection with the local Church.
