WHEN, FOR THE FIRST TIME, YOU FELT YOUR LIFE SPINNING OUT OF CONTROL?

When I actually noticed it was 2020, I was 48. I would over medicate on my prescription pills. The time I actually tried to take my own life is when I took about 30 pills at one time. I thought that ending my life would bring me peace. What triggered it was when I came home from work, my boyfriend, at the time stating that he wasn’t coming back, left me a note and didn’t see him after that.

WHAT MADE YOU REACH OUT TO OUR PROGRAM AT SHEKINAH GO?

My intention was just to get away from my old life. I felt if I didn’t make this change, I wouldn’t be here today. I had only planned to stay for a few days. But I realize for the first time, I felt loved and welcomed here. So I decided to stay in the sober house for women. I really felt God tugging at my heart.

HOW HAS SOBER LIVING AND THE PROGRAMS YOU DO DAILY, HELP YOU DAILY?

It’s amazing, I’m healing every day. Things I’ve have held onto that now I’m free of. I only had one friend, now I have a house full of ladies that I can call friends. I accepted Christ a week within being with Shekinah. I don’t feel like I’m dying now. I have a life to live.
