The Transformation of Jamie Newman

Today, we have the inspiring story of Jamie Newman.

It was the year 2007 that I first arrived at Cal Maskery’s program and it ws the first time I had ever attended a recovery program. After 16 years of addiction and years of homelessness in Toronto, I was introduced to Jesus. The fact that God revealed His existence to me was so staggering that it caused a transformation in my outlook, thought process and purpose in life.

Not only was there a light at the end of the tunnel again, if you will, it was a very bright beacon. God showed up in miracle after miracle and laid a foundation of faith in Him that still stands today. Stronger than ever, it bas now been almost 18 years with sobriety without a single craving or temptation, let alone a relapse. It is truly by his Divine intervention and the power of His Spirit that I had experience and his deliverance in such a way.

God has shown me through the testimony of others the importance of sharing what He has done in my life. There are popular sayings in his circles such as “you can’t keep it if you don’t give it away”. Jesus in us is what allows the Holy Spirit to draw others toward God. This is done by giving God the glory for what he has done through testimony how we live, how we love etc. So if God can give me freedom of Crack Cocaine, then surely he can do it for you.

I strongly believe and am aware of God’s abilities to fix the broken through programs and ministries. What ShekinahGo is doing is the pinnacle of venues for people to get free and get to know Jesus.

I know this is where Jesus would be if he walked the streets today.
